Description: Juniper Networks conformance statements for Switched Multimegabit Data Service (SMDS) interface management on Juniper E-series routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Juniper-SMDS-CONF?
Juniper-SMDS-CONF is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module for the Switched Multimegabit Data Service (SMDS) management component of the SNMP agent on Juniper E-series routers, a legacy WAN service. It declares which SMDS MIB object groups and variations are implemented by the agent, without introducing new managed data of its own. It carries no direct hardware or software runtime status; that information resides in the SMDS interface MIB it constrains. It depends on the standard or Juniper SMDS MIB definitions referenced for conformance. It would be used during management platform integration on legacy Juniper E-series deployments still running SMDS WAN links. Engineers can download the Juniper-SMDS-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-SMDS-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Juniper Networks E-series broadband routers
Monitoring Examples
This module defines no runtime objects to poll; it only enumerates supported SMDS MIB groups on the E-series agent. A management system would consult it once to determine which SMDS interface objects are safely available on this platform. No standalone monitoring scenario applies.
