Category: Alarm and Event Management

Description: ISG/NSD common traps MIB defining shared SNMP notification objects for integrated services gateway and network service device events.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ISG-NSD-COMMON-TRAPS?

ISG-NSD-COMMON-TRAPS is a private MIB (enterprise OID 449, Cisco cdx6500 product family) defining common trap text fragments — such as "POWER SUPPLY (%c) DOWN" — shared across the CDX-6500 family's notification modules (built on the vendor's CDX-6500-COMMON-MIB). It carries no standalone data objects of its own; instead it imports a large set of named textual/enumeration fragments used to assemble consistent, human-readable trap messages elsewhere in the CDX-6500 MIB suite. As a structural/notification-support MIB it exists purely to keep trap wording consistent across the CDX-6500 product family's other MIB modules. It is deployed on cdx6500-family networking equipment. Engineers can download the ISG-NSD-COMMON-TRAPS file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ISG-NSD-COMMON-TRAPS. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • cdx6500-family networking equipment

Monitoring Examples

A management application displaying a power-supply-down trap from a sibling CDX-6500 MIB module renders it using the shared text fragments this module defines.
