All MIBs › AC-FAULT-TC
Category: Alarm and Event Management, Vendor: AudioCodes
Description: Defines textual conventions and enumeration types shared across AudioCodes fault management MIBs, providing common alarm severity and status definitions.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is AC-FAULT-TC?
This is a vendor-specific textual-convention (TC) module from AudioCodes, not a data-carrying MIB in its own right, defining shared alarm severity and status enumerations (based on ISO/IEC 10164-4 and ITU-T X.733 alarm severity conventions) used consistently across AudioCodes' family of fault-management MIBs. It does not expose any runtime objects, tables, or notifications itself; instead it supplies reusable SYNTAX definitions (such as alarm severity levels like critical/major/minor/warning/cleared) that other AudioCodes MIBs import. Because it defines no instantiable objects, it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status by itself—its value is entirely in standardizing how severity is represented in the alarm/trap objects of the MIBs that import it. Its dependency relationship is definitional and explicit: any AudioCodes fault-management MIB that reports alarms is expected to import these textual conventions to ensure consistent severity semantics across the product line. It is used wherever AudioCodes voice/media gateway or session border controller equipment implements SNMP-based fault and alarm reporting. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the AC-FAULT-TC file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AC-FAULT-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- vendor-neutral in structure but AudioCodes-specific in scope; supports AudioCodes voice gateways/session border controllers
Monitoring Examples
This module is a conformance/textual-convention definition, not a runtime data MIB, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe honestly; it contributes no pollable objects, only the alarm-severity type definitions that other AudioCodes MIBs' fault tables and traps reference.
