Category: Domain: Server Hardware, Vendor: Intel

Description: Intel Corporation ICMB (Intelligent Chassis Management Bus) feature MIB providing SNMP objects for chassis bus feature management.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is INTELCORPORATIONICMBFEATURE-MIB?

This is Intel Corporation's MIB for the Intelligent Chassis Management Bus (ICMB) feature, part of Intel's server-management MIB suite for multi-chassis server management. It exposes shared component identification data plus an ICMB chassis table describing chassis-level identity across linked chassis. It is used to monitor hardware status—tracking chassis component installation/verification and chassis-to-component-ID mapping to detect presence or loss of chassis on the management bus. It shares its component-ID model with sibling Intel server-management MIBs such as the baseboard and baseboard mapper MIBs. It is deployed in multi-chassis Intel server environments that use ICMB for inter-chassis management bus communication. Engineers can download the INTELCORPORATIONICMBFEATURE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in INTELCORPORATIONICMBFEATURE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Intel multi-chassis servers using ICMB

Monitoring Examples

tIcmbChassisTable/eIcmbChassisTable, indexed by a11ChassisIndex, exposes a11ComponentId per chassis, letting an admin enumerate all chassis linked via the ICMB and confirm each reports the expected component ID. Combined with a1Installation/a1Verify from the shared component-ID model, a missing or unverified chassis entry would indicate an ICMB bus fault or a disconnected chassis.

What Can Be Monitored

  • chassis index/component ID mapping
  • chassis component manufacturer/version/serial
  • chassis installation/verification status
