Description: Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC) MIB for monitoring server hardware alerts and fault notifications on Lenovo ThinkSystem servers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is LENOVO-XCC-ALERT-MIB?
LENOVO-XCC-ALERT-MIB is a Lenovo vendor-specific SNMP module used by the XClarity Controller (XCC), the baseboard management controller on Lenovo ThinkSystem servers, to define SNMP trap/notification types for alert conditions detected by the management firmware. Rather than exposing pollable data tables, this module is structured as a set of NOTIFICATION-TYPE definitions that the XCC firmware emits when it detects a hardware or system fault condition. Its purpose is monitoring of hardware and software status on the server: XCC-detected alerts typically cover conditions like power supply failure, fan failure, over-temperature, memory/CPU errors, and other component faults, delivered as asynchronous traps rather than through periodic polling of the objects in this MIB itself. As a companion to LENOVO-ENV-MIB and other Lenovo hardware MIBs, it depends on data objects defined elsewhere for full context on a given alert, while this MIB defines only the notification envelope. It is deployed in Lenovo ThinkSystem server environments where the XCC is configured to send SNMP traps to a central monitoring/NMS system for real-time hardware fault alerting. Engineers can download the LENOVO-XCC-ALERT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LENOVO-XCC-ALERT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
No sample data objects were provided for this module, and its stated purpose is defining alert traps rather than pollable data, so there is no polling-based monitoring scenario to describe honestly. In practice, a monitoring system would configure itself as an SNMP trap receiver and rely on the XCC to push a notification whenever its firmware detects an alert condition, rather than scheduling GET polls against this MIB.
