Description: Intel access module (AMOD) MIB providing SNMP objects for managing WAN access module cards in Intel networking equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is INTEL-AMOD-MIB?
INTEL-AMOD-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB for Intel's Access Module (AMOD), a WAN modem card used in Intel networking/access equipment. It exposes a modem status table and a link statistics table covering HDLC framing counters for the WAN interface. Its monitoring value is squarely on hardware/link health: amodModemState reports whether a modem card is up or down, manufacturer/product/version fields identify the installed hardware and firmware, and HDLC error counters (checksum, long, short frame errors) reveal a degrading or noisy WAN link. It depends on IF-MIB for interface indexing, since modem and link table entries are keyed by ifIndex. It is deployed in Intel-based WAN access routers/gateways equipped with plug-in modem cards for leased-line or dial-up connectivity. Engineers can download the INTEL-AMOD-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in INTEL-AMOD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Intel WAN access router/gateway with modem cards
- Intel networking equipment access modules
Monitoring Examples
amodModemTable/amodModemEntry keyed by amodModemIfIndex exposes amodModemState to check whether a given modem is up, connecting, or down, alongside amodModemManufactureName and amodModemProductNameAndVer for hardware/firmware identification. amodLinkTable's amodLinkHdlcRxChecksumErrors, amodLinkHdlcRxLong, and amodLinkHdlcRxShort reveal HDLC framing errors that would flag a noisy or misconfigured WAN link needing attention.
What Can Be Monitored
- modem operational state
- modem manufacturer/product/firmware version
- HDLC receive checksum errors
- HDLC long/short frame errors
- link interface index mapping
