Description: Huawei WLAN MIB implementing CAPWAP (Control and Provisioning of Wireless Access Points) protocol management for AC-to-AP tunnels.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-WLAN-CAPWAP-MIB?

HUAWEI-WLAN-CAPWAP-MIB is a Huawei Technologies proprietary MIB configuring CAPWAP (Control And Provisioning of Wireless Access Points) tunnel security between a Huawei WLAN controller and its access points. Its objects cover the source-interface selection method and IPv4/IPv6 address, DTLS enable and pre-shared key (with a default-PSK switch), IPv6-enable flag, inter-controller DTLS encryption/PSK, echo interval/retry count, local/remote control-priority, message-integrity and sensitive-info PSKs (with inter-controller variants and a mandatory-match switch), and a message-check switch. As a configuration/security MIB it lets an administrator confirm CAPWAP tunnel encryption (DTLS) is enabled and correctly keyed between controller and APs. It is deployed on Huawei Technologies WLAN controllers/access points (CAPWAP). Engineers can download the HUAWEI-WLAN-CAPWAP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-WLAN-CAPWAP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei Technologies WLAN controllers/access points (CAPWAP)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks hwWlanCapwapDtlsSwitch and hwWlanCapwapDtlsPsk to confirm CAPWAP tunnel encryption is correctly configured between a Huawei WLAN controller and its access points.

What Can Be Monitored

  • CAPWAP tunnel DTLS encryption and key configuration
