What Is HUAWEI-WLAN-MIB?

HUAWEI-WLAN-MIB is Huawei's root MIB for its wireless LAN product line, defining the top-level OID node and common definitions under which Huawei's WLAN controller and access point MIB modules are organized. As a root/registration module it exposes no runtime monitoring data directly -- actual wireless LAN hardware and software status, such as AP uptime, radio state, client counts, and controller CPU/memory, is reported by the specific Huawei WLAN MIB modules registered beneath this root. The HUAWEI-WLAN-MIB MIB is typically loaded first so that OIDs in Huawei's controller and access-point modules resolve under the correct parent namespace. It serves as the parent namespace for Huawei's broader WLAN MIB family, sitting under Huawei's enterprise SMI root. It is deployed as supporting infrastructure for Huawei WLAN Access Controllers (ACs) and Huawei AP series used in enterprise and campus wireless networks.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-WLAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei AirEngine 9700-M1 (current) — enterprise Wi-Fi access controller, up to 3072 APs, 120 Gbps forwarding
  • Huawei AirEngine 9703-S (current) — large-campus access controller, up to 4096 APs

Monitoring Examples

No sample_objects are provided since this module defines only the root node, not data-bearing tables. An admin's SNMP tooling uses this root purely to navigate to the actual Huawei WLAN controller/AP status MIBs nested beneath it, for example AP inventory or radio-status tables in sibling modules. No monitoring scenario is fabricated given the lack of runtime objects here.
