Description: Huawei MPLS-TP (Transport Profile) MIB for managing MPLS-TP LSPs, sections, paths, and OAM configurations.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-MPLS-TP-MIB?

HUAWEI-MPLS-TP-MIB is a Huawei private extension MIB for MPLS Transport Profile (MPLS-TP), a connection-oriented packet transport technology used in carrier transport networks, covering LSPs, sections, paths, and OAM (Operations, Administration and Maintenance) configuration. It exposes configuration data for transport paths/tunnels and fault-oriented trap definitions for MPLS-TP events. Its monitoring value is primarily network-path software status: the operational state of LSPs/paths, OAM continuity-check results, and traps signaling a path failure or protection event, which reflect the health of the transport tunnels themselves rather than physical hardware sensors. It is explicitly a private extension of the broader MPLS-TP standard (as defined by IETF/ITU-T) and is meant to be used alongside standard MPLS-related MIBs. It is deployed on Huawei PTN (Packet Transport Network) routers/switches carrying deterministic, carrier-grade transport services over MPLS-TP. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-MPLS-TP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-MPLS-TP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei PTN (Packet Transport Network) routers
  • Huawei MPLS-TP capable routers/switches

Monitoring Examples

No sample object names were provided for this module. Based on the module description, an administrator would monitor per-LSP or per-path operational status and OAM continuity-check/alarm objects to detect an MPLS-TP tunnel defect or failure that triggers -- or fails to trigger -- a protection switchover, which would otherwise show up as a silent service outage on that transport path.

What Can Be Monitored

  • LSP/path operational status
  • section and path configuration
  • OAM continuity-check results
  • protection switchover events
  • LSP/path fault traps
