Description: Huawei LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol, IEEE 802.3ad) MIB for managing LAG groups, LACP PDU exchange, and actor/partner configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-LACP-MIB?

HUAWEI-LACP-MIB is a Huawei vendor extension MIB for managing Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), the IEEE 802.3ad standard that automatically bundles multiple physical ports into a single logical link between devices. It exposes configuration data for link aggregation groups (LAGs), actor/partner negotiation parameters, and status for the automatic port failure detection LACP performs at Layer 2. Its main monitoring value is software/protocol status: whether member ports have successfully negotiated aggregation, whether a port has dropped out of a LAG due to a detected failure, and whether a protection switchover has occurred, all of which reflect the underlying physical link health even though the MIB itself is protocol-state oriented rather than sensor-based. It is a direct vendor extension of the IEEE 802.3ad LACP standard and is meant to be used together with standard interface MIBs describing the underlying physical ports. It is deployed on Huawei switches and routers wherever link aggregation is used for higher bandwidth and link redundancy between chassis. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-LACP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-LACP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei switches
  • Huawei routers with link aggregation support

Monitoring Examples

No object names were included in sample_objects for this module, so specifics are inferred from the module description rather than confirmed table names. Based on that description, an administrator would typically poll a per-LAG-group table for actor and partner LACP state to confirm all expected member ports are aggregated, and watch for a port failure-detection event that drops a member out of the bundle, which would show up as a sudden reduction in the LAG's available bandwidth or an unexpected protection switchover.

What Can Be Monitored

  • LAG group membership
  • actor/partner LACP negotiation state
  • port aggregation status
  • link failure detection
  • protection switchover events
