Description: Huawei pseudowire command MIB for configuring and monitoring pseudowire services including Ethernet and ATM emulation.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-PW-CMD-MIB?

HUAWEI-PW-CMD-MIB (module identity hwPwCmdMIB, under hwMpls) is a Huawei vendor-specific MIB implementing Pseudo Wire Emulation Edge-to-Edge (PWE3) configuration and monitoring, extending the standards-based PW-STD-MIB with Huawei-specific command/status objects for Ethernet and ATM emulation over MPLS. Its core hwPwCmdVcTable models each pseudowire's signaling protocol (hwPwCmdVcSignalProtocol: ldp/static/udp), peer address, inbound/outbound MPLS labels, live status (hwPwCmdVcStatus: down/up/plugout, an instance of VcStatusType), and 1:1/1+1 protection-switching peer objects (hwPwCmdVcSwitchSignalProtocol, hwPwCmdVcSwitchPeerAddr) for redundant PW pairs, complemented by notifications for working/protect switchovers (hwPwCmdVcSwitchWtoP/PtoW) and VC up/down transitions (hwPwCmdVcUp/hwPwCmdVcDown). This makes it useful for monitoring MPLS L2VPN pseudowire service health — confirming a PW's operational state, detecting unplanned working/protect switchovers, and tracking VCCV connectivity-verification and CAR traffic-policing sub-objects referenced elsewhere in the module — on carrier or enterprise MPLS networks offering Ethernet/ATM private-line emulation. It depends on PW-STD-MIB (RFC 5601) for shared indices (pwIndex, pwType, pwID) and on HUAWEI-MIB/HUAWEI-PW-TC-MIB for vendor conventions, and engineers troubleshooting Huawei PWE3 deployments frequently reference the HUAWEI-PW-CMD-MIB MIB for these VC status objects.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-PW-CMD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei MPLS-capable routers/switches supporting PWE3 pseudowire services

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hwPwCmdVcTable for hwPwCmdVcStatus on a given hwPwCmdVcIndex and subscribes to hwPwCmdVcSwitchWtoP notifications; a VC status showing down(1) alongside a recent working-to-protect switchover notification would indicate the primary pseudowire path failed and traffic is now riding the protect path.

What Can Be Monitored

  • pseudowire operational status (up/down/plugout)
  • PW inbound/outbound MPLS label assignment
  • 1:1/1+1 protection switchover notifications
  • PW signaling protocol configuration (LDP/static/UDP)
  • PW CAR (traffic policing) parameters
  • VCCV connectivity-verification configuration
