Category: Domain: Server Hardware, Vendor: HP/HPE

Description: Manages HP NetServer Agent hot-swap subsystem for online replacement of drives and PSUs on HP ProLiant servers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HPNSAHOTSWAPSUBSYSTEM-MIB?

HPNSAHOTSWAPSUBSYSTEM-MIB is an HP NetServer proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 11) reporting hot-swap SCSI storage-subsystem inventory and health. Its objects cover MIB revision, an agent table (index, name, version, date), a module table (index, SCSI-cable type, temperature status, switch state, device-startup mode, middle-drive/high-8 SCSI addresses), a device table (module index, device index, existence, SCSI address, power status), and a power-alert delay setting. As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm which hot-swap SCSI bays are occupied and their power/temperature status. It is deployed on HP NetServer platforms with hot-swap SCSI subsystems. Engineers can download the HPNSAHOTSWAPSUBSYSTEM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPNSAHOTSWAPSUBSYSTEM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP NetServer platforms (hot-swap SCSI subsystems)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks hpnsaHSDevExistence and hpnsaHSModuleTempStatus to confirm hot-swap SCSI bay occupancy and temperature health on an HP NetServer.

What Can Be Monitored

  • hot-swap SCSI bay occupancy and temperature/power status
