Category: Alarm and Event Management, Domain: Server Hardware, Vendor: HP/HPE

Description: Manages HP NetServer Agent event log entries and system alert notifications on HP ProLiant server platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HPNSAEVENT-MIB?

HPNSAEVENT-MIB is a legacy HP (Compaq/NetServer, enterprise OID 11) proprietary MIB reporting the hardware event log on legacy HP servers. Its objects cover MIB/agent revision, an agent table, an event-configuration table (record type, trap-enable flag), capability-present flags for ECC memory/POST/temperature-voltage/ASR (Automatic Server Recovery)/NMI monitoring, event-log percent-full, last-erased date, erasure count, an erase action, and an event-log table (index, entry date, and further detail). As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator watch event-log fullness and confirm which hardware-monitoring capabilities (ECC, ASR, etc.) a server supports. It is deployed on legacy HP (Compaq NetServer) servers. Engineers can download the HPNSAEVENT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPNSAEVENT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Legacy HP (Compaq NetServer) servers

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks hpnsaEventLogPercentFull to confirm the hardware event log isn't near capacity before it starts overwriting older entries on a legacy HP NetServer.

What Can Be Monitored

  • hardware event log fullness and capability flags
