Description: HP Networking ICF SNMP MIB for 802.11 Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS) rogue AP detection on HP WLAN devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HPN-ICF-DOT11-WIDS-MIB?

HPN-ICF-DOT11-WIDS-MIB is an HP Networking (H3C-derived ICF platform) proprietary MIB (built on HPN-ICF-DOT11-REF-MIB) configuring WIDS (Wireless Intrusion Detection Sensor), which detects rogue APs, rogue stations, and wireless attacks. Its objects cover WIDS scan mode/channel list, containment-measure mode, device aging time, dynamic-blacklist enable/lifetime, flood/spoof/weak-IV attack-detection enables, reset actions for rogue history/statistics/block-list categories, flood interval, blacklist threshold, SSID/BSSID filter on/off flags, and a permitted-vendor table. As a configuration/security MIB it lets an administrator confirm rogue-AP detection settings and clear detection history on an HP Networking wireless controller. It is deployed on HP Networking (H3C-derived) wireless LAN controllers (WIDS). Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-DOT11-WIDS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPN-ICF-DOT11-WIDS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP Networking (H3C-derived) wireless LAN controllers (WIDS)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks hpnicfDot11FloodAtkDctEnable and hpnicfDot11WidsBlackListThreshold to confirm wireless intrusion-detection settings on an HP Networking wireless controller.

What Can Be Monitored

  • rogue-AP/attack detection configuration and detection history
