Description: Iskratel IPMI MIB providing SNMP objects for server and chassis hardware health monitoring via Intelligent Platform Management Interface.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ISKRATEL-IPMI-MIB?

ISKRATEL-IPMI-MIB is an Iskratel enterprise MIB that bridges Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) data from server/chassis hardware into SNMP for management systems that cannot speak IPMI natively. Although the source module text is minimal, its name and IPMI heritage indicate it exposes classic out-of-band hardware health sensors: temperatures, fan speeds, voltages, and power supply status, plus overall chassis health/event state. Its principal purpose is hardware status monitoring, letting an operator detect an overheating component, a failed fan, or a degraded power supply on Iskratel equipment before it causes an outage. It depends conceptually on the underlying IPMI specification (a hardware-vendor-neutral standard) even though this particular mapping is an Iskratel-specific SNMP translation. It is deployed on Iskratel telecom/network platforms (e.g. chassis-based access or switching systems) that include an IPMI-capable management controller. Engineers can download the ISKRATEL-IPMI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ISKRATEL-IPMI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Iskratel chassis-based network/telecom equipment with IPMI management controller

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll IPMI-derived sensor objects for chassis temperature and fan status to catch a rising temperature trend before a thermal shutdown, and check power-supply health objects to detect a failed or degraded PSU. Because sample object names were not available in the source, exact OIDs cannot be cited, but the expected pattern mirrors other IPMI-to-SNMP bridges: sensor tables keyed by sensor ID reporting a current reading and a threshold-based status enumeration. A sensor transitioning from 'ok' to 'critical' or 'non-recoverable' status would be the trigger for an alert.

What Can Be Monitored

  • fan status/speed
  • power supply status
  • voltage sensors
  • overall hardware health/event state
