Description: Manages traffic range (TRNG) object definitions for ACL and policy matching on HP/Comware devices.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HPN-ICF-TRNG-MIB?
HPN-ICF-TRNG-MIB is an HP/H3C Comware ("ICF", Intelligent Configuration Framework) MIB module for configuring absolute and periodic time ranges that are referenced by ACLs and QoS/policy rules elsewhere on the device. It is a configuration-oriented MIB rather than a monitoring one - it lets a management station define named time windows (e.g. business hours) that other traffic-filtering or policy features consult. It does not expose hardware environmentals, performance counters, or fault traps of its own; its role is purely to store schedule definitions used by other, separately-instrumented features. There is no explicit dependency beyond the vendor's private ICF MIB tree that groups related Comware feature MIBs together. It is deployed on HP/H3C Comware-based switches and routers wherever time-of-day-based ACL or policy enforcement is configured. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the HPN-ICF-TRNG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPN-ICF-TRNG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- HP/H3C Comware switches and routers
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were supplied for this module. Given its stated purpose (absolute and periodic time-range configuration for ACL/policy matching), it plausibly defines a time-range name/entry table with start/end time and day-of-week fields, but since no concrete object identifiers were provided I cannot cite real names here, and this module is fundamentally a configuration store rather than one exposing a runtime monitoring scenario.
