Description: A second-version set of QinQ management objects covering selective QinQ and VLAN translation on HP/Comware switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HPN-ICF-QINQV2-MIB?
HPN-ICF-QINQV2-MIB is an HP/H3C Comware (ICF - Intelligent Configuration Framework) enterprise MIB implementing version 2 of 802.1 QinQ VLAN stacking, including selective QinQ and VLAN translation on interfaces. It exposes configuration data: global and per-interface service/customer TPID (tag protocol identifier) values, per-interface QinQ enable/disable state, and VLAN translation list mappings. Its monitoring role is centered on confirming the software configuration state of QinQ on each interface -- whether QinQ is enabled, which TPID values are in effect, and which VLANs are being translated -- rather than hardware sensors, making it useful for diagnosing VLAN tagging mismatches in service-provider style Layer 2 tunneling deployments. It builds on the standard IEEE 802.1ad/802.1Q VLAN tagging concepts, layered with HP/H3C-specific per-interface configuration tables. It is deployed on HP Networking / H3C Comware switches used as service-provider edge devices for VLAN stacking. Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-QINQV2-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPN-ICF-QINQV2-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- HP Networking switch
- H3C Comware switch
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll hpnicfQinQv2IfCfgTable/hpnicfQinQv2IfCfgEntry to check hpnicfQinQv2IfState (enabled/disabled) and hpnicfQinQv2IfServiceTPID/hpnicfQinQv2IfCustomerTPID on a given interface to confirm the QinQ tagging configuration matches what was provisioned. Checking hpnicfQinQv2IfTransVlanList would reveal whether VLAN translation mappings are correctly applied for a customer VLAN range. A mismatch between the global hpnicfQinQv2ServiceTPID and a per-interface override would explain why double-tagged frames are being dropped or misclassified.
What Can Be Monitored
- QinQ enable state per interface
- service/customer TPID values
- VLAN translation mappings
- interface QinQ configuration
