hpnicfQinQv2ServiceTPID

Module: HPN-ICF-QINQV2-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPN-ICF-QINQV2-MIB::hpnicfQinQv2ServiceTPID

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.137.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: TPID globally configured for service VLAN tags. The global TPID value for service VLAN tags does not take effect on interfaces where hpnicfQinQIfServiceTPID is configured. By default, the global TPID for service VLAN tags is 0x8100.

What is hpnicfQinQv2ServiceTPID?

This read-write Integer32, ranging from 1 to 65535 and defaulting to 0x8100, sets the global TPID value used for service (outer) VLAN tags under QinQ, though it is overridden on any interface where hpnicfQinQIfServiceTPID is separately configured. An admin changes this away from the 0x8100 default when interoperating with equipment that expects a different service-tag EtherType, such as 0x9100 or 0x88a8. For example, setting this to 0x9100 aligns the switch's service-VLAN tag EtherType with upstream provider equipment using that convention.
