Category: Technology: VLAN, Vendor: H3C/HH3C, Vendor: HP/HPE

Description: Manages protocol-based VLAN assignment mapping Ethernet type or SAP to VLAN on HP/Comware switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HPN-ICF-PROTOCOL-VLAN-MIB?

HPN-ICF-PROTOCOL-VLAN-MIB is an H3C/HPE Networking (ICF) proprietary MIB configuring protocol-based VLAN classification, which assigns frames to a VLAN based on their Layer 2/3 protocol type rather than port or tag. Its objects cover total/per-VLAN and total/per-port protocol-template counts, a VLAN table (VLAN ID, protocol index/type/subtype/type-value, row status), a port table (port index, VLAN ID, protocol ID/type/subtype/type-value, row status, port status), and a different-protocol-port count. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm which protocol types map to which VLAN on a given port on an H3C/HPE ICF switch. It is deployed on H3C/HPE Networking (ICF-based) switches. Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-PROTOCOL-VLAN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPN-ICF-PROTOCOL-VLAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C/HPE Networking (ICF-based) switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks hpnicfProtocolVlanPortProtocolType and hpnicfProtocolVlanPortVlanId to confirm protocol-based VLAN classification on an H3C/HPE ICF switch port.
