hpnicfDifferentProtocolNumAllPort

Module: HPN-ICF-PROTOCOL-VLAN-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPN-ICF-PROTOCOL-VLAN-MIB::hpnicfDifferentProtocolNumAllPort

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.2.16.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: The maximum number of different protocols that can be applied to all ports.

What is hpnicfDifferentProtocolNumAllPort?

This read-only integer reports the maximum number of distinct protocol types that can be applied across all ports on the device for protocol-based VLAN classification. Admins use it to plan how many different protocol categories, such as IP, IPX, and AppleTalk together, the switch can simultaneously support in its protocol-VLAN deployment, as distinct from the total count of protocol-VLAN entries. For example, if hpnicfDifferentProtocolNumAllPort is 3, the admin knows the device supports at most three distinct protocol types being classified across all its ports combined, even if more total entries exist.
