Description: HP ICF SNMP MIB for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy enforcement and device onboarding management on HP ProCurve switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HP-ICF-BYOD-MIB?
HP-ICF-BYOD-MIB is part of HP's Integrated Communication Facility (ICF) enterprise MIB suite for HP ProCurve/Aruba-heritage switches, covering the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) feature that governs policy enforcement and onboarding for employee/guest devices connecting to the network. It exposes configuration objects controlling BYOD policy behavior and per-device or per-port onboarding/registration state, letting an administrator manage how unmanaged devices are authenticated and assigned network access. As a policy/feature-configuration MIB it is primarily useful for confirming that BYOD enforcement is enabled and correctly configured on a switch, rather than for hardware health monitoring, though device onboarding still depends on overall system health. It complements HP's broader ICF authentication/NAC MIB family (802.1X, MAC authentication) as part of the same access-control framework. It is deployed on HP/Aruba ProCurve access-layer switches supporting BYOD in campus or education network environments, and administrators can download the HP-ICF-BYOD-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HP-ICF-BYOD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- HP ProCurve/Aruba-heritage access switches
Monitoring Examples
No concrete object or table names were supplied for this MIB beyond its general description, so specific OIDs can't be cited without inventing them. In practice, an administrator would check the module's BYOD enable/policy objects to confirm the feature is active on a given switch, and per-port onboarding state would reveal whether personal devices are being correctly classified and assigned network access.
What Can Be Monitored
- BYOD feature enable state
- device onboarding policy configuration
- per-port BYOD enforcement status
