What Is HH3C-TWAMP-MIB?

HH3C-TWAMP-MIB implements the Two-Way Active Measurement Protocol (TWAMP-light) on H3C devices, used to actively measure round-trip network performance metrics like latency, jitter, and loss between a client and a target/reflector. It exposes configuration for enabling the TWAMP client and sender, plus a client table defining test sessions with controller ID, source/target address and port, and VPN instance binding. This MIB's monitoring role is centered on active performance-measurement test results and session configuration, letting an operator verify that a configured TWAMP test session between two endpoints is correctly targeting the intended source/destination and generating notifications on threshold events, which is a network-performance rather than hardware-health signal. TWAMP-light is a lighter variant of the IETF-standardized TWAMP protocol (RFC 5357), so this MIB depends conceptually on that standard even though it's implemented as an H3C-specific MIB. Typical deployment is on H3C routers and switches used for SLA verification across WAN or MPLS VPN links. Engineers can download the HH3C-TWAMP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples

An operator enables hh3cTwamplightClientEnable and hh3cTwamplightSenderEnable, then inspects hh3cTwamplightClientTable/hh3cTwamplightClientEntry for hh3cTwamplightClientSrcAddr, hh3cTwamplightClientTrgtAddr, and hh3cTwamplightClientVPN to confirm a test session is correctly measuring performance to the intended target across the right VPN instance. hh3cTwamplightControllerID ties the session to its managing controller for centralized SLA reporting. If hh3cTwampNotifications fire repeatedly for a given client entry, that signals the measured path is breaching configured latency/loss thresholds.
