Description: HH3C MIB for tunnel interface management supporting GRE, IPsec, and other tunnel types on H3C devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-TUNNEL-MIB?

HH3C-TUNNEL-MIB is an H3C enterprise MIB for managing tunnel interfaces such as GRE, IPsec, and VXLAN tunnels on H3C/Comware devices. It exposes tunnel interface configuration data, including encapsulation method, hop limit, security mode, ToS/flow-label handling, and local/remote tunnel endpoint addresses. Its monitoring focus is on the software/protocol configuration and status of tunnel interfaces rather than physical hardware -- an operator can confirm a tunnel's encapsulation type, endpoint addresses, and security settings to verify it is correctly established. It builds on standard interface and address-type conventions (InetAddressType/InetAddress) common to IETF tunnel MIBs, though it is itself an H3C-proprietary module. It is typically deployed on H3C/Comware routers and switches providing GRE, IPsec, or VXLAN tunnel connectivity between sites or data centers, where HH3C-TUNNEL-MIB SNMP monitoring confirms each tunnel remains correctly established.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-TUNNEL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C/Comware router or switch

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll hh3cTunnelIfTable/hh3cTunnelIfEntry to check hh3cTunnelIfEncapsMethod, hh3cTunnelIfLocalInetAddress, and hh3cTunnelIfRemoteInetAddress for each configured tunnel, confirming the tunnel uses the expected encapsulation and endpoints. Checking hh3cTunnelIfSecurity and hh3cTunnelIfHopLimit would reveal whether a tunnel has security enabled and whether its hop limit is misconfigured, while hh3cTunnelVxlanConfigGroup objects would be relevant for VXLAN-specific tunnels in a data center overlay.

What Can Be Monitored

  • tunnel encapsulation method
  • tunnel local/remote endpoint address
  • tunnel hop limit
  • tunnel security mode
  • tunnel ToS/flow label settings
  • VXLAN tunnel configuration
