Description: HH3C MIB for VLAN group management aggregating multiple VLANs into logical groups on H3C switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-VLANGROUP-MIB?

HH3C-VLANGROUP-MIB is a compact H3C vendor-specific MIB for VLAN group management, aggregating multiple VLANs into a single named logical group on H3C switches. It exposes a single hh3cVlanGroupTable, indexed and keyed by hh3cVlanGroupName, which currently defines only the group name itself as a read-only object, the MIB's own revision history notes this as its initial version. This data is useful chiefly as a discovery/inventory mechanism: an operator can enumerate which named VLAN groups exist on a device via SNMP even though the group-to-VLAN membership mapping itself is configured and read through other H3C mechanisms. It depends on HH3C-OID-MIB for its enterprise registration point under hh3cCommon, and it is deployed on H3C switches wherever VLAN groups are used to simplify applying policy across sets of VLANs, where administrators can consult the HH3C-VLANGROUP-MIB MIB Browser view to see the object this early revision defines.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-VLANGROUP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C switches (Hangzhou H3C Technologies)

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hh3cVlanGroupTable to enumerate all configured hh3cVlanGroupName entries on a switch; an expected group name missing from the table would indicate the VLAN group was never created or was since deleted, explaining why VLAN-group-scoped policy isn't being applied as intended.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configured VLAN group names
  • VLAN group table row presence/count
  • VLAN group registration under the HH3C-OID-MIB enterprise tree
