Description: HH3C MIB for system management providing device-level configuration, reboot, and system information management.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-SYS-MAN-MIB?

HH3C-SYS-MAN-MIB is an H3C (Hangzhou H3C Technologies) vendor MIB for system-level management, focused on tracking which configuration and image files a device is currently running and controlling scheduled reloads, including support for XRN (Expandable Resilient Networking) fabrics of combined units. It exposes current-status information per physical entity/unit in hh3cSysCurTable (hh3cSysCurCFGFileIndex, hh3cSysCurImageIndex, hh3cSysCurBtmFileName and hh3cSysCurUpdateBtmFileName for bootrom tracking), scheduled-reload configuration in hh3cSysReloadScheduleTable, an inventory of stored system images in hh3cSysImageTable, stored configuration files in hh3cSysCFGFileTable, and bootrom-file load tracking in hh3cSysBtmLoadTable, alongside system-management notifications. This is useful for confirming which config/image/bootrom combination is active on each unit in a fabric or standalone device, and for tracking whether a scheduled reload is pending, which matters both for change-management auditing and for diagnosing unexpected reboots. It depends on ENTITY-MIB's physical index (or a unit-ID convention for XRN devices without ENTITY-MIB support) to identify which entity a row applies to. It is deployed on H3C switches and routers, including XRN fabric configurations, and administrators can download the HH3C-SYS-MAN-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-SYS-MAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C switches and routers, including XRN (Expandable Resilient Networking) fabric configurations

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hh3cSysCurCFGFileIndex and hh3cSysCurImageIndex in hh3cSysCurTable for each unit in an XRN fabric to confirm all units are running the same configuration and image, and checks hh3cSysReloadScheduleTable for any pending reload; a unit reporting a different hh3cSysCurImageIndex than its fabric peers would indicate an inconsistent software version that could destabilize the fabric.

What Can Be Monitored

  • current configuration/image/bootrom file in use per unit
  • scheduled reload configuration and status
  • stored system image inventory
  • stored configuration file inventory
  • bootrom file load tracking
  • system management notifications
