Category: SNMP Framework, Vendor: H3C/HH3C
Description: HH3C extension MIB for SNMP providing vendor-specific SNMP configuration and notification management.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HH3C-SNMP-EXT-MIB?
HH3C-SNMP-EXT-MIB is an H3C vendor extension MIB that adds proprietary SNMP-related configuration and notification objects beyond what the standard SNMPv3 framework MIBs (SNMP-FRAMEWORK-MIB, SNMP-TARGET-MIB) provide. It exposes scalar configuration objects and notification definitions used to tune vendor-specific SNMP agent behavior on H3C devices. Rather than exposing hardware sensors, its monitoring value is largely about the manageability plane itself, such as agent-side settings and any custom trap conditions the vendor has defined for SNMP subsystem events. It builds directly on top of, and depends on, the standard SNMPv2/v3 MIB framework it extends. It is deployed across the general H3C switch and router product line wherever finer-grained control of the SNMP agent than the standard MIBs allow is required. Engineers can download the HH3C-SNMP-EXT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-SNMP-EXT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C network device (switch/router), general SNMP agent extension
Monitoring Examples
The provided source only lists structural nodes (hh3cSnmpExtScalarObjects, hh3cSnmpExtTables, hh3cSnmpExtNotifications) rather than concrete leaf objects, so a specific monitoring scenario with named counters cannot be given honestly; in practice an administrator would use whatever scalar objects and traps are defined under these branches to tune or watch vendor-specific SNMP agent behavior. Without further detail from the MIB body itself, this module is best treated as an SNMP-agent configuration extension rather than a device health/performance data source.
