Category: Vendor: H3C/HH3C

Description: HH3C MIB for Remote Configuration and Recovery providing configuration backup and restore functions.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-RCR-MIB?

HH3C-RCR-MIB supports Resilient Controllable Routing (RCR) on H3C router devices, a feature that dynamically adjusts outbound traffic across multiple external interfaces by continuously monitoring each interface's performance and load to pick the optimal egress path. It exposes configuration and status data describing external-interface performance metrics, traffic-load measurements, and the intelligent traffic-distribution/selection policy driving egress interface choice. The MIB's monitoring value centers on performance and load counters per external interface, letting an operator see in near-real-time which uplink is being favored and why, which is effectively a software-driven traffic-engineering health check rather than a hardware-fault indicator. RCR builds on top of standard interface (IF-MIB) statistics since it monitors performance and load of external interfaces already represented as ifIndex entries. Typical deployment is on H3C multi-homed edge/border routers with multiple ISP or WAN uplinks needing automatic best-path selection, with network teams typically starting with an HH3C-RCR-MIB download to load the module into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-RCR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C multi-homed edge/border router

Monitoring Examples

An operator would monitor per-external-interface performance and load metrics (delay, loss, or utilization-style counters keyed to interface index) to confirm RCR is correctly favoring the least-loaded or best-performing uplink at any given time. If traffic keeps shifting to a congested outbound interface despite a healthier alternative being available, that would reveal a misconfigured RCR selection policy or threshold. No object names were enumerated in the batch, so exact table/object names should be verified against the MIB source before building dashboards.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-external-interface performance metrics
  • per-external-interface traffic load
  • current selected outbound interface
  • traffic distribution policy state

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using hh3cRcrMRAllMaxUsedBandRate OID:

Select an H3C edge/border router as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type hh3cRcrMRAllMaxUsedBandRate into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. The max used band rate of all external interfaces on member router-devices(MRs) which are controlled by RCR. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an Integer32-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value drifts significantly from its normal baseline, since an unexpected change often points to a real underlying issue. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
