Description: Extends entity management on H3C/HH3C network devices with tables for CPU usage, memory usage, power information, and voltage sensor readings.
IPNetwork Monitor uses several OIDs from this MIB in network discovery and polling the applicable devices. Start monitoring HH3C-ENTITY-EXT-MIB with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor.
What Is HH3C-ENTITY-EXT-MIB?
HH3C-ENTITY-EXT-MIB is an H3C proprietary extension to the standard ENTITY-MIB, adding hardware-health detail per physical entity. Its state table, keyed by ENTITY-MIB physical index, reports administrative/operational/standby status, an alarm-light indicator, CPU usage and its alarm threshold, and memory usage. As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator poll CPU and memory utilization per physical module (card, fan, power supply) and watch for the alarm-light indicator signaling a hardware fault. It is deployed on H3C switches and routers alongside the standard ENTITY-MIB physical inventory. Engineers can download the HH3C-ENTITY-EXT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-ENTITY-EXT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C switches and routers
Monitoring Examples
An administrator monitors hh3cEntityExtCpuUsage against hh3cEntityExtCpuUsageThreshold per module to catch a specific card approaching CPU exhaustion before it affects switch performance.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-module CPU/memory usage and alarm-light status
