Description: HH3C MIB for Redundant Default Device Configuration (RDDC) managing dual-device redundancy on H3C networks.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HH3C-RDDC-MIB?
HH3C-RDDC-MIB manages Redundant Default Device Configuration (RDDC) groups, an H3C high-availability feature that keeps data and control planes running with minimal disruption when a node in an IRF (Intelligent Resilient Framework) fabric fails. It exposes redundancy group membership, preemption timers (configured and remaining), hold timers, and per-node group association for the devices participating in a redundancy group. This is a fault/failover monitoring MIB at its core: tracking preemption/hold-time countdowns and node membership reveals whether a failover has occurred, whether preemption back to a preferred node is pending, and whether a node has unexpectedly dropped out of the group. It works in conjunction with H3C's IRF stacking/clustering technology, on top of which the redundancy group model is built. It is deployed on H3C switches and routers configured in IRF clusters where continuous service during a node failure is required, such as core network or data center aggregation layers. Engineers can download the HH3C-RDDC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-RDDC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C IRF-clustered switch/router
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll hh3cRddcTable for hh3cRddcPreempTimeRemain and hh3cRddcHoldTimeRemain against a group identified by hh3cRddcGroupIdx/hh3cRddcGroupName to see whether a failover is active and when preemption back to the primary node will occur. Checking hh3cRddcNodeTable for a missing hh3cRddcNodeId under a given hh3cRddcNodeGroupIdx would reveal that a redundancy group member has dropped out, likely due to a node failure in the IRF fabric.
What Can Be Monitored
- redundancy group membership
- preemption time remaining
- hold time remaining
- per-node group association
