Organization: Hangzhou H3C Tech. Co., Ltd.
Last Updated: 2009-03-21
Category: Protocol: LLDP, Vendor: H3C/HH3C
Description: Provides H3C extensions to LLDP for advertising proprietary device capabilities and topology information.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HH3C-LLDP-EXT-MIB?
HH3C-LLDP-EXT-MIB is a small H3C proprietary MIB (extending the standard LLDP-MIB) adding CDP-compliance mode to H3C's LLDP implementation, letting an H3C device interoperate with Cisco neighbors using CDP. Its objects cover a global LLDP admin-status and CDP-compliance-status flag, and a per-port configuration table (port number, CDP-compliance status). As a configuration/protocol-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm CDP-compatibility mode is enabled on ports facing Cisco equipment. It is deployed on H3C managed switches interoperating with Cisco CDP. Engineers can download the HH3C-LLDP-EXT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-LLDP-EXT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C managed switches (CDP interoperability)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks hh3clldpPortConfigCDPComplianceStatus on an uplink to a Cisco switch to confirm CDP-compatible neighbor discovery is enabled on an H3C switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-port CDP-compliance status
