Description: The administratively desired CDP Compliance status of the local LLDP a- gent. If the associated hh3clldpPortConfigCDPComplianceStatus object has a value of 'txAndRx', then the LLDP agent will receive CDP frames on th- is port, and will transmit CDP frames only after receive a CDP frames. If the associated lldpPortConfigAdminStatus object has a value of 'disa- bled', LLDP agent will not transmit or receive CDP frames on this port.

What is hh3clldpPortConfigCDPComplianceStatus?

This per-port setting controls whether that specific interface participates in CDP-compliant LLDP behavior -- receiving CDP frames and, once one is received, transmitting them back -- or has this compliance mode disabled entirely. An admin enables this (txAndRx) on ports connected to Cisco equipment specifically so that port can exchange CDP-style neighbor information, while leaving it disabled on ports where only standard LLDP neighbors are expected. Setting this to txAndRx(1) on a port connected to a Cisco phone would let the switch detect and respond to that phone's CDP announcements on that specific port.
