What Is JCImSeries-MIB?

JCImSeries-MIB is a Johnson Controls MIB module for their Metasys building automation platform, generating SNMP traps from Metasys OPC (OLE for Process Control) event data. It is trap/alarm-oriented, exposing building-automation event attributes rather than typical interface or CPU-style counters. Its monitoring role centers on software-level fault/event conditions in the building system—severity, source, timestamp, message text, and condition/sub-condition state—serving as an event monitoring bridge for facility alarms rather than raw hardware telemetry. It depends conceptually on the Metasys OPC/BACnet event model that it translates into SNMP traps. It is typically deployed in Johnson Controls Metasys building automation systems (HVAC, access control, energy management) where facility alarms need to be forwarded to an SNMP-based monitoring system. Engineers can download the JCImSeries-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
