Category: Domain: Server Hardware, Vendor: Fujitsu

Description: Fujitsu Siemens Computers MIB defining SNMP traps for serial interface events and status changes.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is FSCSERIAL-TRAP-MIB?

FSCSERIAL-TRAP-MIB is a legacy Fujitsu Siemens Computers (enterprise OID 544) proprietary MIB defining trap fields for a serial-port console/SPC (Serial Port Concentrator) management system. Its varbind objects cover user/target-user name, firmware-image type and new/current version and upgrade results, port alert string, session identifier/port number, file name, SPC device location/serial port/login/socket, lock/unlock reason, IP address, aggregate-server-status-changed flag, server name, and NFS primary/secondary error reason and port-error status. As a notification MIB it lets an administrator receive a detailed alert identifying which console port, user, or SPC device triggered an event. It is deployed on Fujitsu Siemens serial-console/SPC management systems. Engineers can download the FSCSERIAL-TRAP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FSCSERIAL-TRAP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Fujitsu Siemens serial-console/SPC management systems

Monitoring Examples

An administrator reads fscSerialTrapObjectSPCDeviceSerialPort and fscSerialTrapObjectLockReason from a trap to identify which console port was locked and why on a Fujitsu Siemens SPC system.
