Description: Manages HP NetServer Agent Remote Assist (iLO predecessor) out-of-band management capabilities on HP ProLiant servers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HPNSAREMOTEASSIST-MIB?

HPNSAREMOTEASSIST-MIB is a legacy HP (Compaq/NetServer, enterprise OID 11) proprietary MIB reporting Remote Assistant (out-of-band management card) hardware status on legacy HP servers. Its objects cover MIB/agent revision, board type/name/ID/version, measured temperature with warn/graceful-shutdown/critical-shutdown limits, a voltage table (measured value, low/high limits per rail), and bus-usage 5-second/15-second/1-minute averages. As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator watch temperature and voltage-rail readings against shutdown thresholds via the out-of-band management card, even if the host OS is unresponsive. It is deployed on legacy HP (Compaq NetServer) servers with a Remote Assistant card. Engineers can download the HPNSAREMOTEASSIST-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPNSAREMOTEASSIST-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Legacy HP (Compaq NetServer) servers (Remote Assistant card)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors hpnsaRATempMeasured against hpnsaRATempCriticalSDLimit via the out-of-band Remote Assistant card to catch an overheating legacy HP server even if its OS has become unresponsive.

What Can Be Monitored

  • out-of-band temperature/voltage monitoring
