What Is FTS-CS800-MIB?

FTS-CS800-MIB is a Fujitsu (Fujitsu Technology Solutions) proprietary MIB for the CS800 server system, part of a general Fujitsu device-info MIB family intended to be supported across Fujitsu equipment. It exposes device identity objects (name, assigned name, location, vendor/product ID, product revision), an overall device state object, and detailed SCSI-style fault-reporting objects (sense key, ASC, ASCQ) along with trap description text. Its monitoring role is centered on hardware fault and inventory status: qState gives an overall health/state indicator for the CS800 system, while qSenseKey/qAsc/qAscq expose low-level SCSI sense-code style diagnostic information typically used to pinpoint storage or hardware faults, and qTrapDescription supplies human-readable context for a raised trap. It is designed as a general base MIB that all FUJITSU devices should support, implying other Fujitsu-specific MIBs build on top of its identity/state conventions. It is deployed on Fujitsu CS800 server/storage systems in data center environments where hardware fault codes need to be surfaced via SNMP, which is exactly the role the FTS-CS800-MIB MIB fills in those deployments.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FTS-CS800-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Fujitsu CS800 server/storage system

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll qState to get the overall health state of the CS800 system and would inspect qSenseKey, qAsc, and qAscq together when qState indicates a fault, since these three values combine (in classic SCSI sense-data style) to pinpoint the specific storage/hardware error condition. qDeviceName, qAssignedName, and qLocation let a monitoring system correctly label which physical CS800 unit an alert refers to, and qTrapDescription supplies the human-readable text accompanying a raised trap for the NOC to act on without decoding raw sense codes.

What Can Be Monitored

  • overall device state
  • SCSI-style sense key/ASC/ASCQ fault codes
  • device name/location identity
  • vendor/product ID and revision
  • trap description text
