fscSerialPortPowerOffDetectTrap

Module: FSCSERIAL-TRAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): FSCSERIAL-TRAP-MIB::fscSerialPortPowerOffDetectTrap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.544.8.1.0.18

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: The appliance monitor has detected that the power on/off control signal is low on a serial port indicating that server attached to the port is powered off. This trap is sent on initialization if the condition is detected. Subsequent traps occur only if there is a transition of this signal from high to low. The affected port number is contained in fscSerialTrapObjectPortNumber. The name of the server connected to the serial port is contained in fscSerialTrapObjectServerName.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' FSCSERIAL-TRAP-MIB::fscSerialPortPowerOffDetectTrap
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.544.8.1.0.18

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:64768->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (35195648) 4 days, 1:45:56.48
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: FSCSERIAL-TRAP-MIB::fscSerialPortPowerOffDetectTrap
