What Is FOUNDRY-SN-IP-MIB?

FOUNDRY-SN-IP-MIB is a Brocade/Foundry proprietary MIB providing IPv4 routing, interface, and forwarding-table management for FastIron Layer 3 switches. It exposes objects for ARP aging, default TTL, proxy ARP/RARP, BOOTP relay, IRDP, and load-sharing behavior, plus commands to clear ARP/route/IP caches. Its monitoring value is centered on the software IP forwarding plane: confirming ARP timeout, TTL, load-share, and proxy-ARP settings match intent, letting an admin verify a routing change took effect as designed. It complements standard IP-MIB and IP-FORWARD-MIB objects with Foundry-specific controls. Monitoring Examples

snRtArpAge and snRtIpTtl reveal the current ARP timeout and default TTL configuration, while snRtIpLoadShare and snRtIpProxyArp confirm whether ECMP load sharing and proxy ARP are enabled; after a routing change, an admin polls these to confirm the intended forwarding behavior took effect, using snRtClearArpCache or snRtClearIpRoute to force a refresh if stale entries are suspected.
