What Is FNET-GLOBAL-REG?
FNET-GLOBAL-REG is Fluke Networks' top-level OID registration MIB, defining the enterprise subtree identifiers under which Fluke Networks' various product-family MIBs (e.g., network analysis and cable test tools) are organized. It does not itself expose runtime data objects; it is purely a registration/allocation module establishing the OID namespace that other Fluke Networks MIBs build on. Because it defines no monitorable objects, it has no role in reporting hardware or software status directly; its function is administrative, ensuring unique OID assignment across Fluke Networks' product MIBs. Any actual monitoring capability comes from the product-specific MIBs registered underneath this tree, which this module has a foundational, structural dependency relationship with. It is relevant wherever Fluke Networks test/monitoring instruments (e.g., network analyzers) are deployed and their MIBs need a stable enterprise OID root, a role fulfilled by the FNET-GLOBAL-REG MIB across that product line.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FNET-GLOBAL-REG. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- vendor-neutral in itself; underpins Fluke Networks test and network-analysis instruments
Monitoring Examples
This module is a pure OID registration point with no data-bearing tables or scalars, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; its only function is to define the enterprise subtree under which other Fluke Networks product MIBs allocate their object identifiers.

RFC description
Fibre Channel global registration MIB for managing Fibre Channel functionality and device instances. Defines standard OIDs for Fibre Channel management within the enterprise namespace.
Start monitoring Fluke Networks test/network-analysis instrument (root OID registration) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
