Description: Manages QinQ double-tagged VLAN configurations and service VLAN encapsulation on Ericsson routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ERICSSON-ROUTER-STACKEDVLAN-MIB?
ERICSSON-ROUTER-STACKEDVLAN-MIB manages stacked (QinQ, double-tagged) VLAN interfaces used for service-provider VLAN encapsulation on Ericsson SmartEdge/SM/SSR routers. It exposes aggregate traffic statistics per stacked-VLAN interface, including high-capacity counters for inbound and outbound octets and unicast/multicast/broadcast packets. This supports performance monitoring of Layer 2 service tunnels, letting an operator spot traffic drops, unexpected asymmetry between in/out counters, or a service VLAN carrying no traffic at all. It builds on the concept of 802.1Q/802.1ad VLAN stacking defined in IEEE standards. It is deployed in carrier Ethernet access/aggregation networks providing QinQ-based multi-tenant services. Engineers can download the ERICSSON-ROUTER-STACKEDVLAN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ERICSSON-ROUTER-STACKEDVLAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ericsson SmartEdge/SM/SSR routers
- carrier Ethernet aggregation switches
Monitoring Examples
eriRouterStackedVlanAggrStatsTable/eriRouterStackedVlanAggrStatsEntry, indexed by eriRouterStackedVlanIndex, report high-capacity counters like eriRouterStackedVlanHCInOctets, eriRouterStackedVlanHCOutOctets, and the associated unicast/multicast/broadcast packet counts. An operator polling these per stacked VLAN can detect a sudden drop in HCInOctets indicating an upstream service outage, or a spike in broadcast packets suggesting a loop within that service VLAN.
What Can Be Monitored
- stacked/QinQ VLAN index
- inbound/outbound octet counters
- unicast/multicast/broadcast packet counts
- per-VLAN traffic statistics
