Description: Defines textual conventions for alarm severity, state, and event type objects used across Ericsson alarm MIBs.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ERICSSON-ALARM-TC-MIB?
ERICSSON-ALARM-TC-MIB is an Ericsson textual-conventions module that defines shared alarm severity, alarm state, and event-type enumerations used by the ERICSSON-ALARM-MIB and other Ericsson fault-management MIBs across their telecom network equipment. As a TC-only module it defines no runtime objects itself, so it does not directly expose hardware or software status data. Its role is to standardize how Ericsson's actual alarm-reporting MIBs represent fault conditions, which within Ericsson's broader fault-management framework cover hardware faults (e.g., power, fan, or card failures) and software/process faults raised as alarms carrying these severity/state values. It is explicitly documented as feeding the ERICSSON-ALARM-MIB and related Ericsson SNMP Fault Management documentation, and engineers integrating that alarm pipeline commonly keep an ERICSSON-ALARM-TC-MIB reference handy to confirm the exact enumeration values expected by downstream systems. It is deployed across Ericsson telecom network infrastructure (routers, RAN and core network nodes) wherever SNMP-based fault/alarm monitoring is used.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ERICSSON-ALARM-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ericsson Router 6673 — Fronthaul gateway/multi-service router with embedded RAN Compute, 800 Gbps switching
- Ericsson Router 6678 — Compact high-capacity C-RAN hub/aggregation router, 4.8 Tbps switching
Monitoring Examples
This is a textual-conventions-only module with no runtime data objects, so no concrete monitoring scenario applies here; the ERICSSON-ALARM-MIB and related Ericsson fault-management MIBs import these severity/state enumerations to represent hardware and software alarm conditions consistently.
