Description: Dell EqualLogic iSCSI storage access group MIB for managing host initiator access control lists for volumes.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EQLACCESS-MIB?

EQLACCESS-MIB is a Dell EqualLogic proprietary MIB managing access groups on EqualLogic iSCSI storage arrays, controlling which host initiators can access which volumes. It exposes an access-group table with group name, UUID, description, admin key, type, and privacy flag, plus a by-type lookup table and standard notifications/conformance objects. Its monitoring value is primarily storage-configuration and access-control status rather than performance counters: confirming which access groups exist, their security posture (privacy flag), and that row status/administrative state reflects the intended configuration, which matters for both security auditing and troubleshooting host connectivity to volumes. As a Dell proprietary MIB it doesn't depend on another standard MIB, though it's used alongside EqualLogic's broader family of storage-management MIBs. It is deployed on Dell EqualLogic PS-series iSCSI SAN arrays in enterprise storage environments. Engineers can download the EQLACCESS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EQLACCESS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Dell EqualLogic PS-series iSCSI storage arrays

Monitoring Examples

A storage admin would walk eqlAccessGroupTable/eqlAccessGroupEntry to review each eqlAccessGroupName and eqlAccessGroupUUID against the intended host-initiator access policy, and check eqlAccessGroupRowStatus to confirm all entries are active rather than left in a partially-created state. The eqlAccessGroupPrivacyFlag would be checked during a security audit to ensure sensitive volumes' access groups are properly restricted. eqlAccessGroupByTypeTable helps quickly enumerate access groups of a particular type across the array.

What Can Be Monitored

  • access group existence and name
  • access group row/administrative status
  • privacy flag configuration
  • access group type
  • admin key configuration status
