Description: Eltex LTP-8X standalone GPON OLT MIB for managing PON ports, ONU activation, and GPON service profiles.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ELTEX-LTP8X-STANDALONE?
ELTEX-LTP8X-STANDALONE is a vendor-specific MIB for the Eltex LTP-8X, a standalone GPON OLT (Optical Line Terminal) used to deliver fiber broadband service to ONUs/ONTs at subscriber premises. It exposes objects spanning PON interface status, ONU activation/authentication mode, logging destinations and submodules, firmware auto-update settings, NTP/time configuration, and board/fan/power-supply hardware status. Its monitoring scope is broad across both hardware and software status: ltp8xInterfaceStatusTable and ltp8xBoardStatus/ltp8xFanControl expose PON port link state and chassis fan/board health, ltp8xPowerSupplyTable reports power supply health, and ltp8xONTFwAutoUpdateEnabled plus ltp8xConfigChangeCounter track firmware auto-update state and configuration-drift detection on the OLT itself. It is a self-contained proprietary Eltex MIB, though the GPON OLT/ONU behavior it manages is conceptually aligned with ITU-T G.984/G.988 GPON standards. It is deployed on Eltex LTP-8X OLT chassis at FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) access network head-ends run by broadband service providers. Engineers can download the ELTEX-LTP8X-STANDALONE file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ELTEX-LTP8X-STANDALONE. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Eltex LTP-8X standalone GPON OLT
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls ltp8xInterfaceStatusTable to confirm every PON port is up and serving ONUs, then checks ltp8xPowerSupplyTable and ltp8xFanControl/ltp8xBoardStatus to catch a failing power supply or overheating fan before it takes down a PON port. ltp8xActivationAuthModeTable is checked to confirm the expected ONU authentication mode, such as serial number or password, is configured for a given PON, and ltp8xConfigChangeCounter is monitored to detect unexpected configuration changes. ltp8xLogSize and ltp8xLoggingDestinationsTable confirm logs are being shipped to the correct syslog destination for troubleshooting.
What Can Be Monitored
- PON interface/port status
- power supply health
- fan and board status
- ONU activation/authentication mode
- firmware auto-update status
- configuration change counter
- logging destination and log size
