Description: Eltex enterprise MIB for the LTP-8X GPON OLT, providing ONT management, optical power monitoring, VLAN profile configuration, and alarm/trap notifications for fiber access networks.

IPNetwork Monitor uses several OIDs from this MIB in network discovery and polling the applicable devices. Start monitoring ELTEX-LTP8X with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor.

What Is ELTEX-LTP8X?

ELTEX-LTP8X is an Eltex proprietary MIB for the LTP8X series GPON OLT, reporting per-PON-channel status and SFP transceiver diagnostics. Its PON-channel-state table, keyed by slot/channel ID, records channel state, ONT count, enable flag, SFP vendor/product-number/revision, transmit power, SFP temperature/voltage/transmit-bias-current, and reconfigure/reset-counters actions, alongside an activation-mode table (host-controlled lumped serial number) and an address table. As a hardware/performance-status MIB it lets an administrator watch SFP optical/electrical health per PON channel and confirm how many ONTs are registered. It is deployed on the Eltex LTP8X GPON OLT series. Engineers can download the ELTEX-LTP8X file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ELTEX-LTP8X. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Eltex LTP8X GPON OLT series

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors ltp8xPONChannelSFPTemperature and ltp8xPONChannelTxPower to catch a degrading OLT SFP transceiver before it affects an entire PON channel's subscribers on an Eltex LTP8X.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-PON-channel SFP diagnostics and ONT count

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using ltp8xSwitchPortGoodOctetsRcv OID:

Select an Eltex LTP8X GPON OLT series (PON channel/SFP diagnostics) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type ltp8xSwitchPortGoodOctetsRcv into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. It reports the number of ethernet frames received that are neither bad ethernet frames nor MAC Control pkts. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter64-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the counter increases sharply between polls relative to its normal baseline, since an unexpected spike often reflects a real change in traffic or activity. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
