What Is DF10-DCB-MIB?
DF10-DCB-MIB is Dell's proprietary extension MIB for Dell Networking OS (Force10-derived) switches, managing Data Center Bridging (DCB) and DCBX (DCB Exchange) features such as Priority-based Flow Control (PFC) and Enhanced Transmission Selection (ETS) used in converged/lossless Ethernet fabrics (e.g., for FCoE or iSCSI traffic). It exposes configuration objects for DCB applications, DCBX negotiation, and ETS bandwidth/priority group settings, along with notification objects for DCB-related events. Its role in monitoring is chiefly software/protocol status: DCBX negotiation state and application priority mappings must be correctly matched between switch and end-host/adapter to avoid lossless-traffic disruptions, and notifications flag misconfigurations or negotiation failures. It's explicitly an extension to the standard Dell Networking OS management framework, complementing IEEE DCB standards (802.1Qbb PFC, 802.1Qaz ETS/DCBX). It's typically deployed on Dell/Force10 data center switches supporting converged Ethernet fabrics carrying storage and LAN traffic together, and administrators can download the DF10-DCB-MIB file to load it directly into their MIB browser.
