What Is CXT1E1-MIB?

CXT1E1-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module for Aastra/ConvertedX (CXT) WAN access equipment, covering the configuration and physical-layer status of T1 and E1 digital trunk interfaces. It defines a configuration table (t1e1CfgTable/t1e1CfgEntry) keyed by link index, holding parameters such as debounce timing, jitter attenuator mode, synchronization criteria, and T1 receive equalizer gain/level settings. Its monitoring emphasis is hardware line-status and signal-quality: objects like t1e1CfgT1RxLevel and t1e1CfgT1RxEqualizerGainLimit reflect received signal strength and equalization, while t1e1CfgT1FrameAlignmentChange and t1e1CfgT1JitterAttenuatorTrip flag frame-sync loss and jitter-buffer trip events that indicate a failing or marginal T1/E1 span. As a T1/E1 line MIB it commonly complements the standard IETF DS1/E1 MIB (RFC 2495/2496) for full alarm and performance-counter coverage. It is typically deployed on WAN edge or access routers/multiplexers terminating leased-line T1/E1 circuits. Engineers can download the CXT1E1-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CXT1E1-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Aastra/ConvertedX (CXT) WAN router or multiplexer
  • T1/E1 access equipment

Monitoring Examples

An operator troubleshooting a noisy leased line would poll t1e1CfgLinkIndex to select the affected span, then check t1e1CfgT1RxLevel and t1e1CfgT1RxEqualizerGainLimit for abnormal receive-signal levels, and t1e1CfgSyncCriteria alongside t1e1CfgT1FrameAlignmentChange to see if the link is losing frame synchronization. A rising t1e1CfgT1JitterAttenuatorTrip count combined with a t1e1CfgDebounce-qualified alarm would indicate clock jitter severe enough to require carrier escalation. These objects give configuration context as well as line-quality signals for the T1/E1 circuit.

What Can Be Monitored

  • T1/E1 receive signal level
  • equalizer gain limit
  • synchronization criteria/status
  • frame alignment change events
  • jitter attenuator trip events
  • debounce timing configuration
