Category: Vendor: Aastra

Description: Manages Aastra structured trunk (ST) configuration for WAN service trunk grouping and bandwidth allocation.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CXST-MIB?

CXST-MIB is an Aastra enterprise MIB module managing "structured trunk" (ST) configuration, used for WAN service trunk grouping and bandwidth allocation on Aastra telephony/networking equipment. It exposes per-slot trunk configuration objects, including row status, detection/timer parameters, port status, and receive/transmit signaling state, along with an error indicator for the trunk. Its monitoring value centers on trunk/port operational and fault status — stPortStatus and stErrorIndicator directly reflect whether a trunk port is up and error-free, making this a hardware/link-status monitoring MIB for the trunk interfaces it manages. It is an Aastra proprietary enterprise MIB and does not appear to depend on external standards-based MIBs, relying instead on Aastra's own trunk/slot indexing scheme. The CXST-MIB MIB is deployed on Aastra communication equipment where structured trunk grouping is used to allocate bandwidth across WAN service trunks.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CXST-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Aastra telephony/networking equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll stTable/stEntry (indexed by stSlotNumberIndex) to check stPortStatus and stErrorIndicator for a given trunk slot, confirming the trunk port is up and free of errors. Watching stRxInfoState and stTxInfoState together would reveal a signaling mismatch, while stTimer1/stTimer3 values out of range could indicate a timing/detection configuration problem flagged via stTest.

What Can Be Monitored

  • trunk port status
  • trunk error indicator
  • receive/transmit signaling state
  • detection timers
  • row status of trunk configuration
