What Is CXVMFC-MIB?
CXVMFC-MIB is a vendor-specific Aastra/ConvertedX MIB managing the Voice Multi-Function Card (VMFC), a voice interface card used in Aastra integrated access devices to handle analog/digital telephony signaling such as caller ID, exchange type, and inbound/outbound registration parameters. Its objects are mostly telephony signaling configuration: outbound caller category and calling ID registration, inbound national address size and pulse period, country/exchange type selection, and forward/backward signal timeout values. For hardware/software status monitoring, the timeout objects (vmfcTimeOutBackwardSignal, vmfcTimeOutForwardSignal) and registration parameters are used to confirm the card's signaling behavior matches the connected PSTN/PBX exchange, since a mismatch typically manifests as calls failing to connect or caller ID information being dropped or garbled. It complements the CXMCVOX-MIB voice module MIB on the same platform, together covering the full voice interface stack. It is typically deployed in Aastra CX integrated access devices providing PSTN trunk/voice interfacing at enterprise branch or telco access sites. Engineers can download the CXVMFC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CXVMFC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Aastra ConvertedX (CX) integrated access device with voice multi-function card
Monitoring Examples
An operator would check vmfcCountry and vmfcOutRegExchangeType to confirm the card is configured for the correct national telephony signaling variant when calls to/from a new region start failing. vmfcTimeOutForwardSignal and vmfcTimeOutBackwardSignal would be reviewed if calls are dropping mid-setup, since a timeout mismatch against the connected exchange's signaling timing causes premature call clearing. vmfcOutRegCallingID and vmfcInRegInfoRequest would be inspected when caller ID is failing to display correctly on outbound or inbound calls.
What Can Be Monitored
- caller ID/calling number registration
- exchange type configuration
- country/regional signaling setting
- forward/backward signal timeout
- national address size
- pulse period configuration
