Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CT-DAWANCONN-MIB?

CT-DAWANCONN-MIB is a Cabletron/Enterasys vendor MIB for monitoring direct-attached WAN (DAWAN) connections, covering call-level connection state, statistics, and link quality for WAN interfaces directly attached to Cabletron networking equipment. It exposes data about individual WAN connections/calls, including their establishment state and accumulated statistics that describe link performance over the life of the connection. Its monitoring emphasis is on WAN link and connection-fault status: detecting when a WAN call fails to establish, drops unexpectedly, or exhibits degraded link quality, which are the primary hardware/circuit-level faults operators care about on WAN-attached routing equipment. It is a companion to CT-DAWANDEVCONN-MIB, which covers device-level connection parameters, so the two are typically read together for full circuit visibility. It is deployed on legacy Cabletron/Enterasys routers or WAN concentrators providing direct WAN circuit attachment. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CT-DAWANCONN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CT-DAWANCONN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cabletron/Enterasys direct-attached WAN router

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would monitor per-connection call state objects to catch a WAN call that failed to establish or dropped mid-session, and review accumulated link-quality statistics to detect a circuit with rising error rates before it fails outright. Since no sample objects were provided for this MIB, exact object names cannot be cited; this reflects the general call-state/link-quality monitoring pattern typical of Cabletron DAWAN connection MIBs.

What Can Be Monitored

  • WAN call/connection state
  • connection establishment failures
  • link quality statistics
  • connection uptime
