Description: Provides configuration management objects for saving, restoring, and versioning device configurations.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CONFIG-MGMT-MIB?
CONFIG-MGMT-MIB is a Nortel Networks proprietary MIB (extending NT-ENTERPRISE-DATA-MIB) tracking configuration-change and save events across current, local (NVRAM/flash), and remote (network-server) configuration locations. Its objects cover a network-operation table (random number, command, address, filename, status) for triggering remote save/load operations, current-configuration last-changed/last-saved timestamps, a max-events setting, an event table (time, protocol, source/destination, login type, terminal user, source address, filename), and change/save notification-enable flags with corresponding notifications. As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm when a device's configuration was last changed or saved, and audit who made the change. It is deployed on Nortel Networks routers/switches. Engineers can download the CONFIG-MGMT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CONFIG-MGMT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Nortel Networks routers/switches
Monitoring Examples
An administrator reviews nncfgEventTable to audit who last changed a Nortel device's configuration and whether it was subsequently saved to NVRAM.
What Can Be Monitored
- configuration change/save events and audit trail
