Module: CLJ8500-MIB
OID (symbolic): CLJ8500-MIB::prtconsoledisable
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.2.5.1.1.13

Description: If the object prtConsoleDisable has value 'operatorConsoleDisabled' then input is not accepted from the operator console. If the object prtConsoleDisable has the value 'operatorConsoleEnabled' then input is accepted from the operator console. If the object prtConsoleDisable has the value 'operatorConsoleEnabledLevel1','operatorConsoleEnabledLevel2' or 'operatorConsoleEnabledLevel3' then limited input is accepted from the operator console; the limitations are product specific, however, the limitations are generally less restrictive for operatorConsoleEnabledLevel1 than for operatorConsoleEnabledLeve2, which is less restrictive than operatorConsoleEnabledLevel3. The value of the prtConsoleDisable object is a type-2 enumeration. Additional information: Replaces PML CONTROL-PANEL-LOCK. If the object prtConsoleDisable has value 'ePoperatorConsoleDisabled' then manual input is not accepted from the operator console. If the object prtConsoleDisable has the value 'ePoperatorConsoleEnabled' then manual input is accepted from the operator console.
The following menus are locked with these corresponding values: ePoperatorConsoleEnabled (no locking) ePoperatorConsoleEnabledLevel1 (minimal locking) RESETS MENU CONFIGURATION MENU I/O MENU CALIBRATION MENU
ePoperatorConsoleEnabledLevel2 (moderate locking) PAPER HANDLING MENU menus in level 1
ePoperatorConsoleDisabled (maximum locking) PRINTING MENU INFORMATION MENU Job Cancel menus in Levels 1 and 2.
What is prtconsoledisable?
This read-write integer controls whether the printer's physical front-panel console accepts operator input at all, ranging from fully enabled, to fully disabled, to two intermediate enabled-level states that allow only limited input. An admin uses it to lock down the console in shared or public environments so users cannot change printer settings from the front panel. For example, an admin securing a printer in a public lobby could set prtconsoledisable to ePoperatorConsoleEnabledLevel1 so walk-up users can still check status but cannot dig into configuration menus.
